The Blood Centку of Saratov Region, during the solemn celebration of World Donor Day, awarded donors from Saratov and the region, public organisations that contributed to the development of the donor movement, educational organisations that popularise donorship. The honoured guests of the event were an engineer of the Office of Social Work, SSU, Inessa Izmailova and Deputy Head of the office Marina Kabanova.

Chief Medical Officer of the regional Blood Donor Centre Evgenii Averyanov expressed gratitude to everyone who assists organising the donor movement. He presented the staff of Saratov University a letter of gratitude, where it was noted that SSU contributed in support of the youth donor movement in Saratov Region.

It is worth noting that Saratov University annually organises donor initiatives at bloodmobiles Office of Social Work, the Office of Educational Work and Youth Programmes, and the SSU Labour Union. As a rule, Donor Day event takes place in November at the SSU Health Centre. Volunteers work at the event, most of whom represent the Abilympics volunteer movement.

The most touching part of the event became the performance of the Vlasov family, who initiated the installation of a monument to donors in Saratov as a token of gratitude for the opportunity to extend the life of one of their family members by six years.
