On July 5, there took place the SSU online graduation ceremony. The event was hosted by a postgraduate of the Faculty of Biology Artur Airapetyan and a graduate of the Institute of Physics Ilya Rasulov.
Rector of Saratov University Aleksei Chumachenko addressed the graduates. He spoke about the positions of the students and the university in professional and extracurricular rankings. The rector wished ex-students to be successful, happy, and also hoped that they would always remember the time they spent at university.
‘I would like to thank each of you for our team work. Many events have happened during these years. The programme for the development of the national research university has come to an end, and we have completed it at a high level and showed good results. Saratov University has been awarded with the first category among universities by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. There are only 32 such educational institutions in our country. We are among the universities that have good positions in international rankings. This is mainly your contribution,’ Aleksei Chumachenko stressed.
The graduation programme included rewarding activists and excellent students for their diligence and dedication. The event concert consisted of several bright creative performances where the graduates also participated. Thus, Darya Sheremetyeva, a graduate of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, and a 2nd-year student at the Institute of Physics Ilya Yesin presented Russian folk dance to the audience; Sofia Abramova, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology, sang Manizha's song I Stand on the Way of a Warrior; the modern dance group KNFAM delighted the audience with its incendiary modern choreographic performance.
Dean of the Faculty of Law, SSU, Galina Komkova also congratulated the graduates.
‘Don't be afraid to take risks and create something new. I wish you to be successful in all your endeavours and be happy. Remember that our doors are always open for you,’ she said.
Julia Ilyashenko, a graduate of the Institute of History and International Relations, an activist of the Undergraduate and Graduate Student Council, SSU, had the privilege to give thanks in return to the teaching staff and her alma mater on behalf of the graduates. She thanked Saratov University, spoke about the difficulties that it helped overcome and the knowledge that was gained during her studies.
‘Undoubtedly, the memories about studying at the university will remain one of the brightest in our life. Here we have found friends, learned to help each other, developed, and become better. Thanks to the university, we have gained valuable competencies, knowledge, and experience, which will provide us with benefits further,’ Julia noted.
At the end of the event the hosts wished success in further endeavours to everyone who bears the proud title of a graduate of Saratov State University.
