From 13 to 19 December, the II Student Spring All-Russian Educational Forum took place, where SSU students actively participated in many laboratories: they practiced dancing and drama, engaged in multimedia journalism, recorded their own songs, and created video content.

Anastasia Udintsova, a 2nd-year student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, taking part in the Video Production section, received a “green ticket”, which makes it possible for her to get to the 30th Russian Student Spring festival in 2022 in Samara. Elina Khalilova, a 2nd-year student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, also became an unusual winner of the Media Spring. She received a special prize in the Publication section – an internship in TASS, a Russian news agency.

‘For me, this was the first RSS forum, so participation in the Media Spring gave me an opportunity to work in the laboratory-like conditions with intensive educational and practical parts. Our speaker Irina Mandrykina did not only read lectures but held a dialogue with us, initiated an exchange of experience directly between the participants in the section. This set me up for active work, so in just a few days we created individual projects – multimedia stories (and I even managed to read my own lecture on multimedia storytelling). To be honest, I did not even know that there were supposed to be special prizes from experts at the Media Spring, so when it turned out at the closing forum ceremony that I had won an internship at TASS, I was not at all ready for it. No matter how cliché it may sound, the experience of working in such an eminent news agency is really “the door to great journalism”. So I am ready to cross its threshold and try my hand,’ Elina Khalilova shared her impressions of the forum and the special prize.

The participants of the Audio Podcast section were activists of the Council of Undergraduate and Postgraduates, SSU – Diana Grigoryeva (the Faculty of Economics) and Anastasia Zhigulina (the Faculty of Sociology).

‘From the first days of the forum, we were charged with energy from the other participants, the moderators, and the experts! The speaker of our section told us not only about the basics of podcaster business but also shared her personal life hacks and secrets!’ Diana Grigoryeva commented on the Student Spring.

To remind, the forum was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Youth Union, the Tatarstan Republican Russian Youth Union, the Volga State University of Physical Training, Sports, and Tourism as well as the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering.
