Results of Debut Student Contest Announced

At the Gala Concert of the 2022 Debut contest, the final test for singers took place and the results were summed up in all sections of the competition. On the main stage of the university, in the Assembly Hall of Bldg. X, the winners received the long-awaited awards to the encouraging applause of the audience.

The Director of the SSU Student Club Mark Pinkhasik delivered a welcoming speech. ‘Today our stage is mastered by new talented youth – students who for the first time presented a new genre in this hall. Many of them are freshmen. More than 300 people took part in the competition, from them the jury selected more than a hundred of the best, who became laureates and prize-winners. The contest showed that the students came to us bright-eyed, full of desire to conquer this stage and show what they can do,’ he said.

The qualifying stages of the 2022 Debut competition were held at SSU for several days in different directions. At the beginning of the festive evening, the winners of instrumental, dance, and drama directions, as well as Original Genre, Journalism, and Video received well-deserved awards.

The winners of the instrumental direction were Ilya Tonkoshkurov, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Geology, and Andrei Taranenko, an undergraduate of the Institute of Chemistry. Maria Kuzminova, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Law, won in this direction. A special prize from Non-Drum School was awarded to Ksenia Abaplova (the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics).

The winners in the original genre were Anastasia Glotova, Daria Guseva, Olga Voronina, and Veronica Frolova (the Institute of Philology and Journalism), Elizaveta Zueva (the Institute of Physics), and Daria Samolova (the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods).

In the drama direction, the winners were Maria Novikova (the Institute of History and International Relations), Varvara Ananyeva (the Institute of Philology and Journalism), Anastasia Pushkareva (the Faculty of Biology), and Valeria Bochkareva, Irina Marunova (the Faculty of Sociology). The first places were taken by Polina Kudryavtseva (the Institute of Arts) and Diana Kadirova (the Institute of Philology and Journalism). The best was the student of the College of Radioelectronics Umar Dashayev. A special prize from the International School of Professions was awarded to Elizaveta Dyadkina (the Institute of Philology and Journalism).

Special prizes from Dance Studio 64 in the dance direction were received by Margarita Gribanova (the Faculty of Biology), Adelina Mushatova (the Institute of History and International Relations), and Maria Pchelintseva (the Faculty of Law). The winners were Karina Kulinichenko (the Institute of History and International Relations), the SSU dancing groups titled Toxic and Make A, the Kingstep dancing group (the Faculty of Psychology), Angelika Grunskaya (the Institute of Philology and Journalism), and Natalia Shumilova (the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods). The best in this direction became the Ladies Law group of the Faculty of Law, the Love and Damage duo of the Institute of Physics, Anna Chernysheva (the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education), Askar Sitkaliev (the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies), Alina Lapikura (the Institute of Philology and Journalism), and Irina Rudnova (Institute of Arts).

In the Journalism direction, a special prize from the International School of Professions was awarded to students of the Faculty of Biology Anna Gonchukova, Elena Simakova, and Arina Yakunina. The places of the winners were taken by Daniil Pronin, Aelita Ponomareva (the Institute of Philology and Journalism), Victoria Dormidontova, Inna Titma, Snezhana Ivanova, Maximillian Khanygin, Ekaterina Goncharova, Victoria Kasimtseva, and Anastasia Chervyakova (the Faculty of Law), Anastasia Kiseleva, Anna Pikulina, and tMikhail Tursukov (the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics), and Vasilii Molodyk, Alyona Nerusskova and Sofia Atsigeida (the Institute of Physics). The winners were undergraduates of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Valeria Savina, Daria Yeremina, and Alina Kuryleva.

The winners in the Video nomination were undergraduates of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies Anastasia Dorokhina, Angelina Fedina, and Maria Gusarova, undergraduates of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Valeria Kostromitina and Arina Kobenko, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Geology Dmitrii Ponomarenko, and an undergraduate of the Faculty of Law Alexandra Poshukayeva. A special prize from the School of Media from the International School of Professions was received by Mishiko Putkaradze (the Institute of Physics). The first place was taken by Astemir Sarakuyev, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Law. The Grand Prix was awarded to Sergey Ulyutinov, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Geology.

The finals of the singing direction were held as blind auditions. In order to compete for the victory, the performers had to “turn” the chair of at least one member of the jury by their performance. Umar Dashayev, a student of the SSU College of Radioelectronics, appeared in the image of the showman Dmitrii Nagiyev. The jury was represented by the Head of the SSU Vocal group Victoria Kovsharova, the soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theatre Sergei Filimonov and the musician of the Saratov Philharmonic Vakhtang Toreli.

Modern foreign songs and domestic performance items were presented on the stage. In addition to the musical items, the guests saw the performances of the laureates of the dance direction – the Toxic, Love and Damage, Make A, and Ladies Law dancing groups, as well as Irina Rudnova. The audience supported the speakers with stormy applause.

In the singing direction, the third place was taken by Misak Petrosyan, Maria Polutsygan (the Institute of Philology and Journalism) and Daria Dzyuban (Faculty of Psychology). The second place was taken by Ksenia Abramova (the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education), Yulia Kulaksyz (Faculty of Law), and Angelika Kozhevnikova (the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods). The first place was taken by an undergraduate of the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine and Medical Technologies Yana Portretova. The Grand Prix was awarded to Inna Golubeva, an undergraduate of the Institute of Arts. The jury members congratulated the singers on their successful debut and wished them success.

To remind, the review competition was held with the support of the SSU Student Club, the Office of Youth Policy and Organisational Work, the SSU Joint Council of Students, the Students Trade Union, and the Office of Social Work. The partners of the contest were Non-Drum School, the Light singing studio, the International School of Professions, Dance Studio 64, and the LoveStretch studio. Choreographers Svetlana Titova and Valeria Stiforova, a technical group consisting of Alexander Yefimov, Gennadii Khanzhov, Roman Isayev, and Anton Yefimov, as well as vocal mentors Daria Panakshina and Norayr Petrosyan helped prepare the 2022 Debut.
