Today the VI VUZPROMEXPO National Exhibition has been opened in the Expo Centre, Moscow. It is an annual massive platform where Russian researchers display their developments. Research, education, state, and business communities cooperate closely due to the exhibition.

The SSU delegation is represented by SSU Rector Aleksei N. Chumachenko and Vice-Rector for Research Work Aleksei A. Koronovskii. Together with the colleagues they will present 10 advanced developments of the university researchers.

At the opening ceremony Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail M. Kotyukov said that the display was devoted to the Research and Education national projects which had been implemented for a year.

‘These national projects are focused on the people. If we take research, it is scientists. We create the comfortable environment and the most advanced research infrastructure for them. We help them build teams and we support those teams so that Russian ambitious young researchers will be able to implement their ideas and produce the most modern advanced technologies. I am glad that region representatives have actively participated in it,’ highlighted Mikhail Kotyukov.

One of the projects presented by Saratov University is connected with non-invasive transcranial therapy of glioblastomas. Used for brain tumour inhibition without surgeries this non-invasive technology activates internal immune brain resources, and the body cures the tumour itself. Usually this process takes 9 months, and there have been even noted the cases when the tumours completely subsided.

Another SSU project presents photoacoustic technologies for early theranostics of metastatic tumours developed by the Biomedical Photoacoustics Laboratory. The research department is a unique modern structure in the Saratov Region that develops optics equipment and ultrasonic medicine devices. Thus, the laboratory staff conducts unique research, develops science and medicine equipment, and tests the devices before its production.

Also SSU researchers are going to show remote-controlled nanostructured systems for targeted drug delivery and diagnostics. This approach can be used to cure such skin diseases as dermatitis, superficial dermatomycosis, and chromatosis as the targeted drug is delivered via skin appendages. Applied to pharmaceutics and food industry innovation makes can be produced employing this capsulation method.

Another research development – the clinical decision support system prototype in reconstructive vertebral and pelvic complex surgery – is aimed to help surgeons choose the necessary operation variant. The system is based geometric planning and biomechanical modelling for more effective treatment.

Also Saratov University will display one more innovation material, namely four types of non-woven filter superfine fabric, which will be produced soon.

SSU researchers will tell the exhibition visitors and members about new methods to diagnose and treat saccadic system conditions, comment on on-line monitoring systems of air pollution, how to use secondary resources in road construction or DLC-coating for assembly parts of fuel injection equipment, and talk about precision alloy production.
