SSU – One of Moderators of 27th German-Russian Media Forum on Media Management

In the period from November 26 to 28, the XVII German-Russian Media Forum "Crisis Media Management and Digital Reality" will be held in an online format. The Forum has been held annually in various regions of Russia since 2003 and is designed for young professionals from Germany, Russia, Eastern Europe and CIS countries with the aim of professional exchange of experience in the field of journalism. This year the event is held in cooperation with Saratov University as part of the Year of Germany in Russia. On the part of the university, the organizers are the Institute of Philology and Journalism and the International Service.

The XVII German-Russian Media Forum "Crisis Media Management and Digital Reality", which will be held for the first time in the format of a virtual media conference, will be attended by more than 50 journalists and media experts from Germany, Russia and CIS countries.

The 2020 virtual media conference is dedicated to the topic of the social and economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, which put journalists in need of a professional exchange of opinions. In 2020, the journalistic community faced new challenges: the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as measures taken to prevent the spread of infection worldwide, highlight the problems associated with the consumption and production of modern information products.

What are the ways to solve these problems? What new responsibilities do journalists have in connection with the pandemic and the new formats emerging in the digital world? These and other issues will be discussed by experts and participants of the XVII German-Russian Media Forum.

Young journalists will take part in the media forum – representatives of various media, including employees of the Russian international information agency RIA Novosti, the Focus Media Company agency, the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), the Russian daily socio-political newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA), the German daily newspaper "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger", "The Moscow German Newspaper", the largest German public radio station of the land of Hesse "hr1" (Hessen Radio 1), The public broadcasting company of North Rhine-Westphalia WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk), the international news agency "Russia Today", the largest German TV channel RTL, the Union of Journalists N-ost, uniting reporters and media projects from more than 20 European countries.

Among the experts of the forum are the vice-president of the publishing house "Kommersant", in the recent past the editor-in-chief of "Moscow News" and "Ogonka" Viktor Loshak; Professor Hector Haarketter (Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Graduate School); head of the Department of Digital Media Communications of St. Petersburg State University, editor of the column of the magazine "Journalist" Kamilla Nigmatullina; political scientist, adviser on political issues, journalist Alexander Rahr. Conversations and live broadcasts with journalists from Saratov editorial offices are also planned: the SSU Media Center, the editorial office of the youth TV project "I like it", IA "SarBC", the magazine "World Club".
