Members of Project Session Presented Projects to Social Centre Experts

The project session with the experts from the Social Centre continues at Saratov State University. On April 9, at the plenary meetings of the group, there were presented the ideas on business affairs at SSU, according to the cycles Current Projects and Target Model.

The members of the session were divided into the following groups – Partnership Management System, Scientific Policy: Research and Development, Strategic Projects: Impact on External Cooperation, Strategic Projects: Impact on the University, Educational Policy, and Target Model, Management System, and Financial Policy.

The teams worked for several hours on their areas, tried to understand the tasks unanimously, transferring their vision to the university as a multi-faceted scheme.

The purpose of the project session is to analyse and adjust the work of various university units, as well as provide effective communication among them.

‘We improve, find our own drawbacks, and try to find ways to solve the tasks. For myself, I have noted several points related to the development of partnerships with external organisations. I think that this direction will receive an additional impetus after the project session,’ the participant of the session, Chair of the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering Anatolii Karavaev said.

At the morning session devoted to the analysis of the current situation at the university, its participants talked about tasks the university would solve next, why the consortia had appeared, and how the university community imagines partnership.

The speakers were Asel Adilova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the Institute of Physics, Associate Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics; the curator of the ICT-Electronics strategic project, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Physics, Deputy Head for Organisational Work of the Research Medical Centre, SSU, Associate Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Nonlinear Dynamics Andrei Slepnyov; Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the Institute of Chemistry, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry Irina Gamayunova; Programme Director of the Boiling Point Centre, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Physics Andrei Rytik; Chair of the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering, Head of the Education-to-Research Laboratory of the Digital Integrative Bioengineering Systems FABLAB Anatolii Karavayev; Associate Professor of the Department of Innovation, an employee of the Research Medical Centre, SSU, Daniil Bratashov.

The discussion was also attended by Vice-Rector for Research and Digital Development Alexei Koronovskii and Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina.

‘The project session has a few advantages. Due to it, we can productively communicate with colleagues from other units for a long time. At such meetings, we exchange opinions, talk about good decisions that are introduced into stratprojects,’ Irina Goryacheva, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, the curator of the Chemistry and New Materials strategic project said.

 

In the second cycle of the second day, the participants were asked to define the SSU target model and find steps to achieve it.

The colleagues shared their ideas on improving systems at the university for the successful implementation of strategic projects, presented management and financing models for developing commercial products, and discussed the cooperation of industrial partners, the university, and government bodies.

The trajectories of the university development were presented by Head of the Office for External Partnership of the International Office Maria Storozhenko; Associate Professor of the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering, a laboratory assistant of the same department Yurii Ishbulatov; Associate Professor of the Department of National History and Historiography, Responsible for Academic Affairs of the Institute of History and International Relations Anton Luchnikov; the head of the ICT-Electronics strategic project, Deputy Head of Organisational Work at the Research Medical Centre, SSU, Associate Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Nonlinear Dynamics Andrei Slepnyov; Chair of the Department of English and Intercultural Communication Svetlana Shilova; Assistant of the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering, an engineer of the same department Alexander Kurbako.

The final speeches caused a heated discussion. The researchers and the representatives of the SSU management asked each other questions, clarified options for solving the tasks, and put forward ideas for the development of the university. The experts of the Social Centre shared their opinions on the projects, suggested what could be improved, and gave recommendations on the work of the university in the areas.

The final day of the project session will be held today. The groups will discuss the two cycles – Problematisation and Organisational Solutions. After lunch, the participants will summarise and record the results, as well as set tasks for the next stage.
